I felt like I was working at a Bakery.

So I decided that I would make cookies this year to give out to a select few. Boy was this one task that took a lot out of me. I started on Friday and I finished on Sunday night. I made sugar cookies, double chocolate cookies from France and vanilla dipped pretzels. Well it was a lot of work. First my cookies from France were not that easy to master. I ended up with a tub full of crumbs, but hey they make good ice cream toppings. And so the easy part was making the pretzels. But hey it was fun and it's fun to give them away- don't you wish you got one??

2 hours later...

So it takes me seriously 2 plus hours to get ready. Not just me, but the kids. I start out my day with giving them breakfast. Then I have to shower. Get ready. Put Sofie down for a nap. Get Ethan dressed. Then finish getting ready myself. I have to make sure that I have the diaper bag ready. Diapers, baby wipes, water, formula, booger sucker, saline for the boogers,( my kids get a lot of congested noses with the dry weather) snacks for Ethan, snacks for mom, toys for Sofie, extra clothes to change in, jackets, gloves, blanket and the ever important burp rag. Ok so I probably forgot something as I walk out the door so I have to run back in and grab my digital camera. You never know when you will have a Kodak- or in my case Nikon moment. Then after I give Ethan several warnings to come and put his shoes on I place him and Sofie in the stroller. I take the elevator downstairs. To our car- strap them in load them up. Make sure that Sofie has the essentials. And then I am off to the store of my choice to have a relaxing time shopping because my children will be so well behaved because I made sure to pack everything they needed.

One Night at a time- or stone.

Ok so here it is for the entire world wide web to see- my thoughts my feelings and what goes on in my every day life as a mother of two.

Last night we tried to put Ethan to bed without one of us laying down with him. Succesful?? Well he screamed, he cried, he got out of bed and yet Sofie stayed asleep through the entire 1 hour battle. So I guess she really isn't a lite sleeper. The trick- I took him a flat stone that I took off of one of my candle displays. I told he was to hold it and that Jesus made it just for him. And I also SAT next to him as he fell alseep. Baby steps people.
